Well it's been almost a year since the Gallery officially opened in Irricana and I can't believe what we've all accomplished. It truly has been an act of passion and committment on so many of our parts, we should all be proud. Please drop by this summer to share in the "Fruits of Our Labour" at the Grasshopper Gallery. I have learned so much about the level one has to give in order to reach ones goal. I hope everyone can appreciate all the hard work that has gone into this old building that has seen so many trial and tribulations within its confines. Thanks to all our supporters out there!

Here is where you can find me these days. Our new Artist's Co-op called the Grasshopper Gallery in Irricana. Wow what a project! It is coming together so well now with the help and support of so many fellow artist's. Come by for a look. We are open Thursdays to Sundays right now.

It is such a pleasure working with kids that have a passion for the arts. This mural in the Airdrie Library was fun and I think turned out really powerful.

The Night Watchman

This is a simple painting that
reminds me of an art friend
who loves crows. I think
they are a nice compostitional
element that softens the picture.

.... Who doesn't love a
night sky on the prairies.

This is my first "Altered Book" project called "Nature vs Nurture". I can't believe how much fun this has been. No limitations. Total creativity. I can hardly wait to get involved with the Airdrie7 Group and share our multi-faceted creative juices in producing several of these types of books.

2009 Town of Irricana Hay's Garage Mural

This is another of the many murals we have now in Irricana and one of the ones I coorinated as part of my job with the Town. Each time I design murals for the town, I design them so other people (mainly kids) can help paint them. This piece had 20 kids help in some way. It depicts an old fashioned garage scene as the building that is was going on was an old garage owned by the Hay Family. This is just a little piece of history about my town.

One of my new large format pieces painted for Beiseker School's foyer. This piece is representational of things that relate to education including a dictionary on the page defining "education" and other school related words. I hope they will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed painting it.

Airdrie 7 Art Exhibit

We are having another small exhibit by the Airdrie 7 Artists. Seven women artists who have come together to share their love and passion for the arts. Myself, Brenda Campbell, Veronica Funk, Michelle Wiebe, Susan Harris, Kristen Shima, Rhea Warholik and Cheryl Bakke Martin. Drop out to share your love for the arts with us this Saturday, May 30th from 11 to 4 pm in the quaint Town of Irricana. (20 straight east of Airdrie off hwy 567) Follow the pink signs when you get here.
